Introduction

Our research is strongly disease- and application oriented and addresses new concepts for improved diagnosis and therapy. Imaging technologies such as MRI, CT and nuclear imaging play a central role in our research projects. We combine these modalities with new materials, such as new tracers, contrast agents or stimuli-responsive drug delivery systems but also in combination with physical therapies such as Magnetic Resonance guided High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (MR-HIFU). These combinations are enabled by our dedicated facilities for nanomedicine, radiochemistry as well as preclinical imaging. The latter offers all tomographic modalities for multimodal preclinical studies.
