Introduction

Our group investigates immune mechanisms in cardiovascular disease (CVD), with a particular focus on T cell and macrophage responses. Building on this work, we have expanded our research to uncover the relevance of novel mediators of myeloid cell function, including olfactory receptor 2, in aortic and cardiometabolic diseases. We are further interested in understanding how systemic and cellular metabolic alterations impact on immune cells in the context of CVD. Our overarching goal is to develop innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to limit CVD

Using advanced mouse models combined with cutting-edge single-cell technologies, including spectral flow cytometry and multimodal single-cell sequencing, my group dissects immune pathways governing macrophage–T cell interactions across diverse CVD conditions and comorbidites. We have furhter developed a strong interest in translating mechanistic insights from basic research into clinical application.
