Introducing Dr Elisa Motori

Elisa Motori is a biochemist with a strong focus on mitochondrial biology and cellular neuroscience. She earned her PhD in Biochemistry (2012) from the University of Bologna, Italy. During her doctoral studies, she was a Visiting Scientist at LMU Munich’s Department of Neurobiochemistry. Following her PhD, she conducted postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing in Cologne, Germany.

Since 2022, she is leading her own research group at the Institute for Biochemistry and CECAD Research Center, University of Cologne, and since 2024, at the CMMC Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne.
