University of Cologne honors Jens Brüning with Research Award
On April 29, 2025, Professor Dr Jens Brüning was awarded the University Award in the category of Research during the Rector’s Annual Reception at the University of Cologne.
Jens Brüning is among the world’s most respected researchers in the fields of endocrinology and metabolism. As Director of the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research, Professor at the University of Cologne, and Executive Board Member at the Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne (CMMC), his research has led to groundbreaking insights into the mechanisms underlying obesity, diabetes, and aging.
The University Award recognizes not only his internationally outstanding scientific contributions but also his pivotal role in shaping Cologne’s position as an international center for biomedical research.
