Apply now for the CCSP-Program at the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne

The program provides an optimized environment for the combined scientific and clinical training of young clinicians who are ideally in their second or third year of their curriculum. CCSP constitutes a comprehensive platform for advanced training of highly motivated physicians and is embedded into the Medical Facultys strategy to support talents thriving at a scientific clinical career in academic medicine. The platform offers a structured educational program.

With this program the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne intends to strengthen translational and / or clinical research in its three Focus Areas (tumor biology, infection and immunity; homeostatic principles in metabolism and tissue regeneration; neuromodulation) but explicitly welcomes applications from young clinicians beyond these FAs.

The fellowship is offered for a total of 3 years and embedded into the curriculum of the specialist training. An interim assessment of the applicants progress will be held to decide about further funding in the third year. The fellowship provides 50% of the salary (TV-Ä) for the protected research time. The remaining 50% will be covered by the accepting clinical department, allowing for the clinical training during the fellowship.

• A strong commitment to a career as a clinician scientist proven by first publications and continued scientific activity
• An excellent German state examination and MD degree
• An integrative and cooperative personality
