CRC 829 “Molecular Mechanisms Regulating Skin Homeostasis” has successfully renewed its consortium
and the DFG Senate decided in Nov. 2016 to fund the 3rd funding period with 11 Mio. € until the end of 2020.
Scientists from the Medical and Natural Science Faculty of the University of Cologne, the University Hospital, the MPI for Biology of Ageing, the MPI for Metabolic Research and the German Sports University have successfully applied for funding of the third funding period.
The CRC 829 chaired by Professor Carien Niessen was postively evaluated and during the DFG Senate Meeting on Nov. 17 - 18, 2016 DFG Senate decided to fund the 3rd and last funding period of CRC 829 with 11 Mio € until the end of 2020
The consortium consisting of 20 projects investigate the molecular and cellular interactions within and between the different skin compartments that control skin homeostasis and addresses how challenges disturbing this communication cause skin disease. 13 principal investigators of CRC 829 are also running a project in the current funding period of the CMMC.
