Professor Björn Schumacher, Principle Investigator at the CECAD and at the CMMC Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne, has been elected to the prestigious Academy for Health & Lifespan Research. This global non-profit organization unites leading scientists and clinicians dedicated to advancing breakthroughs in longevity science and expanding the human health span. By fostering collaboration across disciplines, the Academy aims to accelerate the translation of research into real-world applications that combat age-related diseases.

Schumacher’s induction recognizes his significant contributions to understanding how genome stability impacts the aging process. As a member, he joins a distinguished network of experts working toward the shared goal of making longevity research more impactful and accessible.
