Professional activities

Janine Altmüller works on various aspects of NGS data production, technology development and implementation. Next to standard genome and transcriptome sequencing, she and her team accomplished particular expertise in approaches that focus on chromatin conformation, low-input, single cell and spatial protocols, cell-free DNA assays, detection of structural genomic variation, and epigenomic analysis. Janine Altmüller serves as PI in DFG funded projects on nephrogenetics together with Bodo Beck from the Institute of Human Genetics in Cologne. Currently she works on biomarker discovery in cfDNA, cell-type specific DNA methylation, and RNA isoform detection using single cell and long read technologies.
