33rd Ernst Klenk Symposium in Molecular Medicine

Announcement - Invitation - Announcement

It is our great pleasure to announce the 33rd Ernst Klenk Symposium in Molecular Medicine 2017 of the Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne (CMMC) on "Tissue regeneration, wound healing and fibrosis: Translating basic concepts into regenerative therapy".

Sabine Werner - Inst. for Molecular Health Sciences, ETH Zürich, CH
Scientific Coordinator and honorary key note speaker of the traditional
Ernst Klenk Lecture on Monday, October 16, 2017.

We are honored to announce that Sabine Werner is substantially involved in the scientific coordination of the program jointly with Sabine Eming, Catherin Niemann and Thomas Krieg. The meeting is shaping up to one of the most exciting meetings in the field of tissue repair and regeneration in 2017. As the meeting stands so far it brings together an outstanding and diverse group of scientists at the forefront of repair and regeneration research who will share and discuss the latest advances in the following sessions:

Session I: Exploring molecular concepts of cell renewal and stem cell function in tissue maintenance and repair
Helen M Blau - Stanford, US • Matthias P Lutolf - Lausanne, CH • Ian G Macara - Nashville, US • Phillip A Newmark - Madison, US • Renato Paro - Zürich, CH • Julien Sage - Stanford, US

Session II: Mechanisms of cellular communication in tissue regeneration, repair and fibrosis
Gian-Paolo Dotto
- Lausanne, CH • Michael T Longaker - Stanford, US • Pura Munoz-Canoves - Barcelona, ES • David M Ornitz - St. Louis, US • Raffaella Sordella - Cold Spring Harbor, US • Joachim P Spatz - Heidelberg, DE

Session III: New strategies of targeting the immune response in tissue remodeling
Mathias Heikenwälder - Heidelberg, DE • Paul Martin - Bristol, UK • Edward J Pearce - Freiburg, DE • Jeffrey W Pollard - Edinburgh, UK • Nadia A Rosenthal - Bar Harbor, US  Thomas A Wynn - Bethesda, US

Session IV: Challenges and perspectives for translating scientific discoveries in regenerative medicine

Matias A Avila - Pamplona, ES • Jeroen Bakkers - Utrecht, NL • Jacob E Corn - Berkeley, US • Robert S Kirsner - Miami, US • Dennis R Roop - Aurora, US Robert Sackstein - Boston, US
